Nusra Khan

Nusra was called to the bar of Ontario in 2021.

Nusra is an associate with Kapoor Barristers. She practices in the areas of criminal, constitutional and administrative law, with a special focus on criminal appeals. Nusra has appeared in every level of court in Ontario as well as the BC Supreme Court, the BC Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada. 

Nusra has authored several publications on criminal and constitutional law and maintains a special research focus in the areas of executive immunities and privileges.

Prior to joining Kapoor Barristers in 2023, Nusra served as commission counsel to the Justice Paul Rouleau at the Public Order Emergency Commission. She previously clerked for Justice John Norris at the Federal Court. She also summered and articled at the litigation office of the Department of Justice in Toronto. 

Nusra obtained her law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School, where she graduated in the top twenty percent of her class. While in law school, Nusra was an avid mooter and earned top oralist prizes in the Cherniak, OTLA and International Criminal Court Moot competitions. She also served as editor of the Journal of Transnational Legal Theory and published papers on socioeconomic rights and national security procedure.

Nusra was called to the bar in Ontario in 2021. She is a member of the Criminal Lawyers Association, the Advocates Society and the Ontario Bar Association.
